As the company behind an array of world-renowned audio brands including AKG, Harman Kardon, JBL, Mark Levinson, Lexicon and Infinity, our team has fueled the passion of premium-audio enthusiasts, best-selling artists and sophisticated drivers for decades. Through our diverse product portfolio, our global team is enhancing today’s connected lifestyles in the home, car, work place and everywhere in between. We are designing for a future that is even more personalized, intelligent and seamless.
It is no surprise, but still incredible, that HARMAN received 56 industry awards for design in the past year alone, and more than 200 product award in the past four years. These awards include accolades for product and design innovation; user interface and experience design; communication and packaging design.
The company’s growing list of product and design awards is driven in large part by the ingenuity and creativity of HARMAN’s designers and engineers. The Harman Design Center located in Shenzhen, China is the nucleus for the company’s global design team with more than 40 in-house designers from over 20 different countries hard at work developing the next generation of audio, automotive and professional connected experiences. Many HARMAN designers began their careers in entertainment, audio production or automotive design, bringing a variety of skills that complement and enrich the company’s core offerings.
HARMAN’s Vice President of Design, Damian Mackiewicz says, “HARMAN’s sophisticated and innovative design delivers captivating audio and connected experiences for consumers. Of note, our speakers deliver superior sound performance for your home, on the go, at work, in the car, and in some of the most prestigious venues around the world. Our goal is to create a rich and emotional bond with consumers through our design. Our continued industry recognition reinforces HARMAN as a thought leader in today’s global consumer technology industry.”
Recent award winners illustrate HARMAN’s robust portfolio and thoughtful approach to design, and include the following highlights:

- Three of HARMAN’s lifestyle audio products recently received prestigious European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) Awards for a range of audio solutions including the AKG N90Q, the JBL Reflect Mini BT headphones, and the JBL Charge 3 waterproof Bluetooth speaker. To win an EISA award, products undergo a rigorous judging process, with winners being selected based on having a combination of the most advanced technology, the most desirable features, the ultimate expression in design, the most functional ergonomics and the best value.
- HARMAN's Pupil-Based Driver Monitoring System, the industry-first
advanced
safety technology released in 2016, has been awarded a prestigious CTIA Emerging Technology (E-Tech) Award in the Connected Life category, the only automotive solution to place. This proprietary eye and pupil tracking system measures high cognitive load and mental multitasking in the driver’s seat, and signals the car’s other safety systems to adapt to the driver’s state. It represents a major step forward in the domain of Advanced Safety and Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) for vehicles.
- HARMAN was honored with a
Ford World Excellence Award this year for the collaboration between HARMAN and The Lincoln Motor Company to design the premium, one-of-a-kind Revel audio system for Lincoln’s latest MKX and MKZ vehicles. For each model, engineers and designers from both companies worked closely to replicate the premium Revel home audio experience inside the vehicle cabin. Everything from the trim to the door handle placement was considered and designed from the ground up to ensure sonic perfection and craftsmanship.
