HARMAN U

As a leading technology company with applications across a range of industries including automotive, audio and enterprise technology, HARMAN has a strong focus on recognizing our talented in-house engineers, developers and designers who help bring superior connected technologies to our consumers and partners. HARMAN University, our educational group for learning and development, recently celebrated National Engineers Week through stimulating events at our automotive headquarters in Novi, featuring presentations and panel discussions from HARMAN leadership, professional development sessions and social gatherings across the facility. Here’s how we celebrated our gifted #HARMANengineers in Michigan.

Inspired by the campaign’s theme of EPIC (Execution, Platforms, Innovation, Cost), the week kicked off with a welcoming presentation with HARMAN leaders, Gani Nayak, Senior Vice President, Connected Car; Frank Moffa, Senior Vice President, Customer Program Management; Sandip Ranjhan, Senior Vice President and General Manager for HARMAN Connected Services; Jason Bauman, Vice President of Global Engineering and Sripriya Raghunathan, Vice President of Systems and Software Engineering.

Dedicated to providing our employees with the opportunities to gain the valuable skills they need to advance their careers, HARMAN University hosted a handful of professional workshops and training activities, including a program on ‘A day in a life of an Acoustics Engineer,’ security incident response trainings, rapid prototyping sessions, and sessions dedicated to augmented reality and virtual reality technologies.

In addition to workshops, the Novi office had a handful of exciting demos and tours took place throughout the week. These activations included a tour of HARMAN’s Huemen Design Center, as well as demos on HARMAN’s Digital Cockpit, HARMAN Shield, HARMAN’s Forward Facing ADAS Camera and more. HARMAN leaders also inspired attendees with presentations on diversity and inclusion, and presented insights and best practices on ways to protect HARMAN’s innovations.

HARMAN University’s Engineers Week activations across our Novi office were a great success, resulting in 500 participants and positive feedback from our leadership team. Leader testimonials include:

“I would like to send my thanks to both the organizers and the participant of the 2019 Engineer’s week!  It’s very important that we take the time to step back from our day-to-day jobs and learn about other areas that may pique our Engineering interests as well as celebrate Engineering disciplines and the value their output brings to society.” - Frank Moffa, SVP, CPM North America

“Thanks to the HARMAN U team for planning an inspiring array of activities for the whole week following the theme EPIC. There was something new to learn for every engineer in the building!” - Sripriya Raghunathan, VP,  Android Product Line

“I also want to state how very well this week has been organized and run by you.  Not only for my presentation but the several presentations that I attended.  This is a great way all of us to cross pollinate the ideas, products and technologies going on at HARMAN.” - Geoffrey Wood, Director, Business Development, Cyber Security
