A global connected technologies leader that is committed to developing solutions that enhance experiences for one and all, HARMAN is a strong advocate of empowering the next generation of leaders to realize their full potential through the power of music, technology and community service. Continuing on our commitment to advancing women who are passionate about pursuing fulfilling careers in STEM fields, we just announced that we’re teaming up for a fourth year with our longtime partner 1,000 Dreams Fund to launch our 4th annual New Face of Tech Scholarship program. With this year’s funding of $60,000, a doubling of our commitment from the previous year, we’re encouraging qualified female candidates to apply here.

In this year’s New Face of Tech program, 40 female candidates who seek to take on exciting careers in STEM will be chosen for a $1,500 grant and also a product from JBL, our iconic audio brand, in addition to career guidance from a HARMAN executive who will help them build their resume skills and provide an opportunity to interview for a role at HARMAN. This year, HARMAN expanded on its commitment to 1,000 Dreams Fund to help more women pursue their professional aspirations, in the face of the unforeseen impact of COVID-19 on college-going women. Along with 1,000 Dreams Fund, a key partner of our global cause movement, HARMAN Inspired, we’ve allocated grants of more than $50,000 to women across the country since our New Face of Tech program originally launched in 2017.

"The unique times we currently face simply accentuate the already critical need to grow the pipeline of women entering the STEM fields. The mission of 1,000 Dreams Fund aligns with the Harman Inspired vision of empowering the next generation through access to education," said Annette DiBenedetto, Global Lead, Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Engagement at HARMAN. "HARMAN, through our HARMAN Inspired platform, has a deep and abiding commitment to make a difference, and our continued support to The New Face of Tech Scholarship Program will afford access to those who likely did not have it, increasing the likelihood that career opportunities will be generated for these promising young people."

Our 4th annual New Face of Tech Scholarship program will be accepting applications through November 13, 2020. Female students who aspire for an illustrious career in STEM can apply for this program by submitting a photo that showcases how they represent the New Face of Tech and sharing a personal account that details how they plan to use the grant funding towards achieving their professional objectives.
