With the opening of its Luxury Audio Studio, HARMAN is building on the success of its Experience Store in Munich and creating a whole new dimension of experiential excellence. Dedicated to the Art of Listening, the new Luxury Studio celebrates and showcases HARMAN’s award-winning luxury audio brands through a uniquely immersive approach. On May 9th, HARMAN inaugurated the Luxury Audio Studio with an exciting and exclusive program featuring a multi-touch listening journey to the heart of Luxury Audio, including interactive listening sessions and demos, the launch of the Lexicon SL-1 speaker with HARMAN’s revolutionary “SoundSteer” technology, and a fascinating interactive panel discussion on the “ Art of Listening.”
HARMAN’s Luxury Audio Group boasts five prestigious brands—JBL Synthesis, Mark Levinson, Revel, Lexicon and ARCAM—which together deliver the most advanced high-performance audio systems available anywhere in the world. The HARMAN Luxury Audio Studio was designed to serve not only as a billboard for these remarkable, award-winning brands, but to offer HARMAN’s customers and partners the opportunity to interact with them in a wholly original way.
The 136 sqm Luxury Audio Studio’s design uses a unique concept that immerses visitors in a Rockstar-like atmosphere. Resembling a musician’s loft, the studio contains a stereo lounge with a vinyl record wall and a conference room. Everything in the studio was designed using materials chosen for their acoustic properties, with vintage layers and textures throughout the space. Completing the studio is a state-of-the-art JBL Synthesis 7.4.4 home theater with Dolby Atmos® to be used as a testing ground for HARMAN’s latest products while providing a luxury in-home experience certain to impress audiophiles and audio professionals alike.
The inauguration of the Luxury Audio Studio provided HARMAN with a special opportunity to discuss the Art of Listening, which lies at the very heart of HARMAN’s vision and purpose. Following remarks by David Tovissi, Vice President and General Manager of the Luxury Audio Division, a distinguished panel of audio experts including HARMAN’s own Dr. Sean Olive, Senior Fellow Acoustics Research; Frank Filipetti, 7x Grammy-winning music producer; and Dr. Hauke Egermann, Assistant Professor in Music Psychology, University of York discussed holistic approaches to fully grasping music, and to delved into the details of how to listen more intelligently.
HARMAN is extremely proud to inaugurate this one-of-a-kind space, and is excited to invite visitors to immerse themselves in an unforgettable experience dedicated to the world’s most advanced high-performance audio systems and the Art of Listening.
