HARMAN is gearing up to present its best-in-class audio technologies and solutions for many of the world’s foremost automotive OEMs at IAA 2019 from September 12-22 in Frankfurt/Main. Now in its 68th edition, IAA is the world’s largest motor show as well as a leading international forum for all aspects of mobility. Audi offers elevated listening thanks to Bang & Olufsen
Launching at IAA, the Audi RS6 and Audi RS7 are equipped with a Bang & Olufsen 3D Sound System, heightening the driving experience with realistic three-dimensional sound. The Audi RS6 and Audi RS7 feature a 3D Advanced Sound System specifically designed to enhance the cars’ exclusive interior with 19 active speakers, a powerful 19-channel 1,820-watt BeoCore Class-D amplifier, ICEpower, full aluminum grilles and acoustic lens technology.

X5, X7, and new X6
The BMW X5, X7, and new X6 on display at IAA feature the acoustic expertise of Bowers & Wilkins. Available as a premium option, the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System offers a truly immersive experience that is a pleasure to listen to as well as a pleasure to behold. Graceful forms and advanced materials such as Diamond, Rohacell®, and Aramid Fibre combine with subtle illumination effects and perfect 3D sound to ensure an extraordinary experience for every passenger. The system features 20 exactingly placed speakers powered by a 1475-watt 20-channel amplifier, with QuantumLogic® Immersion processing, full-active output stage technology, dynamic equalising, and much more.
7 Series and 8 Series
The new 2019 BMW 7 Series features a striking profile, cleaner powertrain and array of high-tech equipment, as well as an updated leather-clad cabin and extra sound deadening. To create outstanding listening experiences, Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System and Harman Kardon premium sound system are both available as premium options. The same choice of audio system is available to drivers of the 2019 BMW 8 Series ensuring an excellent audio experience while on the road.
Other BMW models
Multiple other BMW models featuring Bowers & Wilkins and Harman Kardon sound systems will also be on display in Frankfurt. Among them, the i3 and i8 both offer Harman Kardon premium sound to accompany these cars’ forward-thinking mobility and attention to energy efficiency.
Ford and Bang & Olufsen set the tone
Ford is showcasing its all-new Kuga, Explorer PHEV, and the new Puma in Frankfurt, all of which are equipped with a B&O Sound System. An SUV inspired crossover combining appealing design and modern mild hybrid drive technology, the new Ford Puma SUV features a powerful B&O Sound System that gives the listener the sensation of being swept away to a live venue. Ten speakers including an Externally Coupled Subwoofer (ECS), eight channels, a 575-watt amplifier and DSP technology are but a few of the features that place this sound system in a class of its own. The third generation of the Ford Kuga features the B&O Sound System for the first time, having undergone static as well as dynamic sound tuning to ensure a consistently enjoyable listening experience regardless of outdoor conditions. The latest Ford Explorer PHEV also offers drivers and passengers powerful sound for every drive thanks to the premium audio experience provided by the B&O Sound System, unique in this truck segment. The sound system offers superior sound performance on all types of roads and includes an array of high-performance features including 12 loudspeakers, 11 channels, a 780-watt amplifier, speed adaptive volume and surround sound. Choosing the Platinum trim, customers can enjoy an even more powerful version of the B&O Sound System with 14 loudspeakers, 13 channels and a 980-watt amplifier as well as aluminum speaker grills. At the Ford outdoor and test drive area, visitors of the IAA trade show will be able to receive further information and experience live the B&O Sound System in several cars on display.
Discover the passionate sound of Harman Kardon at the IAA
Mini is launching the new MINI Cooper SE, the first all-electric MINI, at Frankfurt. Available as an optional feature, the Harman Kardon sound system treats MINI drivers and passengers to an all-encompassing, dynamic listening experience. With its 12-speaker system, Harman Kardon is powering up any journey with sound and emotions.
Visitors to the MINI booth will also be able to experience the Harman Kardon sound in several other MINI models on display.
JBL lifts up sound for all-electric smart
The 2019 smart EQ fortwo is set to make its world debut at IAA. With this, smart is paving the way into their fully electric mobility approach and JBL is providing the soundtrack for this exciting ride. With 8 precisely positioned and tuned loudspeakers, sound in the small car becomes a pleasure. The smart gives drivers more time and space in the city, while JBL makes their hearts rise with the beat of their favorite tunes.
