We are delighted to announce that three more HARMAN products are now sporting Red Dots, including the JBL Pulse2 which received the prestigious ‘Best of the Best’ title at this year’s Awards.
The Red Dot Award is an internationally recognized quality seal. Dating back to 1955, it is awarded to products that demonstrate innovation, formal quality, functionality and ecological compatibility. A total of 7,838 products were submitted for this year’s awards, 666 received the coveted Red Dot and only 63 were awarded the ‘Best of the Best’.
All entries are judged by a jury of 40 esteemed international experts and the in-depth evaluation process lasts for several days.
HARMAN VP of Design, Damian Mackiewicz, said “the recent awards stand testament to HARMAN’s commitment to delivering high performing products complemented by sophisticated and magnificent design.”
They add to the over 200 awards received by HARMAN brands globally over the past four years.
So what does it take to produce an award-winning product? Let’s take a closer look at the Red Dot Jury’s feedback on the Harman Kardon Controller App, JBL Horizon, and JBL Pulse2 – all of which were awarded for their excellence in User Interaction Design.
JBL Pulse 2 – ‘Best of the Best’
The JBL Pulse 2 is the second generation of one of our best-selling portable products and previous Red Dot Award-winner, the JBL Pulse. As a wireless, splash proof speaker, the JBL Pulse 2 transforms any space into a party with captivating pre-programmed and programmable light displays. With 10 hours of playback, listeners can wirelessly stream songs from any smart device and to further elevate and personalize the LED lightshow experience, the JBL Prism color sensor lens matches and reflects any color it’s pointed at, amplifying the colors of life. Plus, it features a noise and echo cancelling speakerphone for crystal clear calls.
Harman Kardon controller app
The Harman Kardon Controller App for iOS and Android works seamlessly with our Harman Kardon Omni 10 and Omni 20 speakers and the Adapt audio adaptor to let you stream HD audio around your home. You can use the Controller app to set up and customize your speakers, control audio in your house and stream local or cloud content in glorious HD audio.
JBL Horizon
The JBL Horizon is a multi-sensory alarm clock with LED ambient light that helps to wake you up gently with an LCD display that automatically adjusts its brightness to suit your room lighting. The Horizon features two separate customizable alarms, for you or your partner. Wake up to one of three original digital alarm tones, the FM station of your choice, music from your smart phone via Bluetooth or a traditional buzzer. Two USB ports allow you to fast-charge your devices, including phones, tablets and wearables while the large Snooze/Light button combined with the clear LCD display makes the JBL Horizon easy to use even when you are drowsy.
While all three are quite different products, they all benefit from HARMAN’s thoughtful and future-focused approach to design as we work to create a truly seamless experience from your home, to your car, to your office and everywhere in between.
