At HARMAN, we’re dedicated to fostering a workplace where all our employees feel a sense of belonging, purpose, and opportunity to thrive. This commitment doesn’t stop at our doors -- it extends beyond our teams to the next generation of innovators, engineers, designers, and leaders poised to shape the future of innovation.

Through our global cause initiative, HARMAN Inspired, and in partnership with 1,000 Dreams Fund, we provide support to students who are pursuing their dream careers in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) fields through our New Face of Tech scholarship. This year, 50 remarkable young women were recognized for their ambition, creativity, and leadership, joining a growing network of emerging STEAM talent.

Introducing the New Face of Tech Class of 2025

This year’s cohort represents a wide range of academic pursuits and career aspirations, from mechanical engineering and computer science to UX design and environmental research. Other recipients are shaping their own paths in fields such as biomedical sciences, nutrition science, highway engineering and transportation, aerospace engineering, and more – demonstrating the wide range of possibilities the program is designed to encourage and support. Together this cohort represents the curiosity, resilience, and forward-thinking mindset needed to lead the future of STEAM.

As 2025 NFOT scholarship recipient Jane O., who is pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, shared: “My career goal is to become a leader in designing mathematically interpretable AI systems that scale across domains, from biological networks to real-world AI infrastructures, and to use my journey to expand who gets to be seen as ‘the face of tech.’”

Susie S., another 2025 recipient who is pursuing Computer Science and Communication at the University of North Dakota, said that her goal is “to combine my passion for public speaking with my love for computer science and robotics to make tech education more accessible to students across the United States, especially in rural communities like the one I grew up in.”

Over 297 applications were received from all over the world, including international winners in Colombia, Ghana, Pakistan, Morocco and Germany!

Each of our 50 New Face of Tech Scholarship winners receive:

Mentorship: Guiding the Next Generation

A core pillar of the New Face of Tech program is mentorship. Each recipient is paired with a HARMAN team member for one-on-one sessions over the course of a year, creating meaningful opportunities to share insights, practical guidance, and encouragement. These connections help students navigate early-career challenges, build confidence, and provide a clearer understanding around pathways to success in their chosen field.

By sharing professional journeys, mentors inspire mentees and reinforce a culture of collaboration and empowerment. “Supporting the next generation of STEAM talent is one of the most rewarding parts of my work,” said Jason Sweet, Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist at HARMAN. “At HARMAN, we know that when talented young professionals feel supported and connected, they are better positioned to contribute, innovate, and thrive – and that benefits us all.”

Through mentorship, career guidance, and access to opportunity, all of us at HARMAN are proud to empower the next generation of women in STEAM to realize their full potential – a reminder that rings true today, on International Day of Women and Girls in Science, and every day. Programs like NFOT help cultivate a culture where emerging leaders feel supported, valued, and confident to shape the future of technology. With the right guidance and community, these innovators are poised to drive meaningful change across industries.
