As a leader in audio innovation, HARMAN has always believed in the power of music to inspire, bring people together and transform every day experiences. Make Music Day is a unique commemoration of the unifying power of music that takes place on June 21 all over the globe. Every year, HARMAN’s employees and communities everywhere celebrate Make Music Day, to commemorate music’s place in the company’s legacy, unwavering impact on our people, and ability to nurture our innovations. In this year’s celebration of music and caring, HARMAN teams came together to spread the unifying power of music through a variety of engaging experiences.

Our theme for Make Music Day 2023 was “HARMANizing for Good,” with a focus on how music can be a powerful force for positive change in our communities. In that vein, we spotlighted HARMAN employees whose passions or making music mirror the company’s commitment to connected technologies that elevate listening experiences, and explored what inspires them to play music. We also encouraged team members to share their favorite songs that embody this theme on social media with the hashtags #HARMANConnectsMe and #HARMANIzingForGood, from songs about empowerment to inspirational anthems and more.

HARMAN is committed to expanding access to music education and helping the next generation reach their fullest potential through our global cause initiative, HARMAN Inspired. In honor of Make Music Day, HARMAN continued to support causes around the globe that nurture and support music education, thanks to our partners like Music Will, Klasse-Im-Plus, Les Girls Club, AR Rahman’s Sunshine Orchestra, Make-A-Wish, Affirmations, and more.

With Make Music Day this year happening during Pride Month and just after Juneteenth, we shared insights from our HARMAN Pride and Black Professionals Network ERGs about how music has had a profound effect on those communities. To further demonstrate how music makes a tangible impact, our world-renowned audio brand JBL also conducted a survey with Millennials and Gen Z’s in India, that found 86% of individuals cited music as having the ability to boost their confidence and facilitate social interactions.

HARMAN looks forward to celebrating Make Music Day every year as part of our unwavering commitment to music and music education. Delivering elevated music-driven experiences has always been our priority and the connecting power of music is reflected in all we do.
