At HARMAN, innovation isn’t just about the technology we build—it’s also about how we show up for one another and the communities we care about. From March 23 through April 23 colleagues from around the world came together through the 2026 Global Charity Miles Challenge, transforming everyday movement into meaningful action and shared purpose.

The Impact We Made

Together, more than 140 employees across our three global teams stayed active during the challenge (March 23 to April 23), reinforcing healthy habits and showing that small moves really can add up. In total, our teams logged 14,619 miles and earned $7,173.99 during the challenge! Top charities supported UNICEF, the American Cancer Society, and the World Wildlife Fund, a powerful reminder that our collective efforts can make a real difference.

Whether walking the dog, cycling outdoors, training indoors, or fitting in steps between meetings, every mile contributed to something bigger than ourselves.

Moving More—With Purpose

For many participants, Charity Miles added an extra layer of motivation. Colin Mahoney, Product Management, shared how the app helped connect routine activity to real-world impact in a way that felt both seamless and personal:

“Charity Miles gives moving an extra layer of meaning. It’s an easy way to increase the impact I can have for causes that matter to me, all while doing things I already enjoy. Whether I’m heading out for a walk or hopping on my bike, it’s motivating to know those miles translate into real support for organizations doing meaningful work.”

At the same time, the challenge fostered connection across HARMAN’s global workforce. Employees logged miles alongside colleagues they may not interact with day to day—creating a shared experience rooted in wellness, generosity, and teamwork.
