Propelling a Paradigm Shift Through IoT with Valued Partners: Mobile World Congress 2018

Following an exhilarating presence at the renowned CES 2018 show in Las Vegas, HARMAN has continued the momentum created there by revealing a range of breakthrough solutions incorporating cloud computing, analytics, machine learning, augmented reality, voice AI agents, over-the-air updates, and cybersecurity at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona, Spain.

Along with Samsung, we are providing the fastest path to secure IoT products and services to our customers. Announced at MWC, HARMAN is collaboration with Samsung to build and deliver solutions on the Samsung ARTIK™ Smart IoT platform, enabling customers to improve productivity and business transformation. Based on this partnership, Samsung will provide ARTIL-based secure System-on-Modules (SoMs) and software solutions to run on HARMAN IoT gateways for both enterprise and industrial deployments.

Together, integrated ARTIK cloud services and HARMAN business solutions will enable customers to easily connect products together, orchestrate interactions between devices and data sources, manage devices remotely, and extend the life of products in the field with over-the-air updates.

HARMAN also announced the extension of our IIOT collaboration with PTC to integrate AR functionality into HARMAN’s Media Suite. Already collaborating with PTC and leveraging its ThingWorx® Industrial Innovation platform, this integration allows organizations to transform their workplace by enabling enterprises to create immersive, augmented reality content for training, communications and additional field service enablement. Acknowledging that demand for augmented reality and virtual reality products is projected to reach $17.8 billion in 2018 alone, together with PTC, HARMAN is hard at work placing cutting-edge mixed reality technology into the hands of enterprises.
