IFA 2017, BERLIN – AUGUST 31, 2017 – HARMAN International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. focused on connected technologies for automotive, consumer and enterprise markets, today announced JBL® Free, a truly wireless in-ear headphone. The cord-free earbuds encourage music lovers to break up from wires and neckbands for truly unrestricted movement, whether on the phone (in mono mode), listening to music on-the-go or working out at the gym (+ silicone sleeves).
To amplify the listening experience, these in-ear headphones are equipped with JBL’s Signature Sound to deliver the same superior audio that music lovers have come to expect from the brand. JBL Free lets music fans conquer the day however it suits them best. Users can either take a call with just one earbud for mono sound and continue to keep an ear open while at work or out and about, or use both for stereo sound to power through an intense workout at the gym or become totally immersed in a favorite playlist or podcast at home.
The earbuds are Bluetooth-enabled so users can connect smart devices and enjoy a completely hands-free experience. Additionally, JBL Free has a built-in microphone for uninterrupted, crystal clear calls at the touch of a button.
Outfitted with comfort-stay secure fit ergonomics, the JBL Free earbuds deliver long-lasting wear for maximum enjoyment throughout the day. Built with sweat and water resistant materials, the earbuds withstand any situation, whether rainfall on the way to work or a vigorous morning sweat session at the gym. To ensure an impeccable and secure fit, three comfort-fit ear tips and two secure fit silicone sleeves are included. Users can interchange ear tips and sleeves for a total of nine different size combinations.
JBL Free provides 24 hours of combined use – delivering continuous music for up to 4 hours with 20 hours of backup power from the charging case. The lightweight case is equipped with a built-in battery, letting listeners recharge an entire hour of music playback in just 15-minutes.
“JBL Free sets the bar for truly wireless listening with its superior sound, versatility and sleek looks,” said Jessica Garvey, Vice President, Headphones & Wearables at HARMAN. “Completely free from wires and easy to use, the JBL Free is the ideal companion for calls, music and an active lifestyle.”
