AUTO SHANGHAI 2011 – HARMAN, the premium global audio and infotainment group (NYSE:HAR), announced today that the upcoming electric vehicle from the joint venture company formed by BYD Motors of China and Daimler AG, will include premium branded audio solutions from HARMAN.

HARMAN will provide premium audio for vehicles sold domestically in China, as well as for export to international markets. The first HARMAN-built system is expected to launch on domestic vehicles in 2013, and will have two versions. The top line model will feature 5.1 surround sound, an eight-channel amplifier, subwoofer and twelve speakers. The second tier model will offer an eight-channel amplifier, subwoofer and 8 speakers.
