HARMAN Names Dr. Mike Peters President of Connected Car Division

HARMAN International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. focused on connected technologies for automotive, consumer and enterprise markets, today named Dr. Mike Peters as Executive Vice President and President, Connected Car, effective immediately. Peters was previously Executive Vice President of Global Key Accounts for Automotive at HARMAN. He joins the HARMAN Executive Committee and reports to Dinesh C. Paliwal, President and Chief Executive Officer of HARMAN.

Peters succeeds Phil Eyler, who resigned his position to assume an opportunity as CEO of a public company.

HARMAN Connected Car develops integrated systems encompassing Embedded Infotainment, Telematics Platforms, In-Car User Interfaces and User Experience, Cyber Security and Autonomous/ADAS solutions. Peters will oversee an organization of 7800 employees, including top technology experts and engineers throughout the world. He will be based in Munich, Germany with an office at HARMAN’s North American Automotive Headquarters in Novi, Michigan.

Peters’ automotive technology career spans over two decades of experience in engineering, R&D purchasing and sales for OEM, tier-one suppliers and technology companies. Peters previously worked with HARMAN from 2002 to 2007 as vice president of the customer business unit, where he was responsible for managing the core business units of Audi and Volkswagen. Prior to returning to HARMAN as executive vice president of global accounts in April 2017, Peters served in a variety of senior management roles at BMW Group in engineering, purchasing and supplier network for electrics, electronics, mechatronics, and driver assistance systems. Prior to BMW Group, Peters served as vice president of global sales and portfolio at Continental Automotive.

Peters holds a Dr.-Ing. in digital signal processing from the University of Kaiserslautern in Germany. Peters also attended Michigan State University and has a degree in communication technology from the Technical School of Mittweida (TH) in Germany. He is member of IEEE and VDI.
