Audi offers exceptional audio powered by Bang & Olufsen

Taking the driving and listening experience to a whole new level, the Audi RS5 Coupé features an optional Bang & Olufsen 3D Sound System that provides an unparalleled level of acoustic transparency and takes music to the third dimension. The 3D Sound System has sophisticated processing elements that perform analysis on the move, ensuring intelligent distribution of the input signal to the loudspeakers in the car for a highly realistic three-dimensional sound experience. With a total of 19 loudspeakers and front woofers using DHS (Double Half Shell) principles, the Bang & Olufsen 3D Sound System has an impressive 755 watts of pure musical power. Other key features include Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Vehicle Noise Compensation (VNC). The new Audi RS3 Limousine and Audi RS 3 Sportback LCI are also equipped with a powerful Bang & Olufsen Sound System, including 14 fully active loudspeakers, a 15-channel amplifier with 705-watt input, dedicated sound tuning and optimised rear seat sound performance.

Harman Kardon and Bowers & Wilkins redefining sound quality in BMW cars

The desire to perfectly combine the highest quality, latest technology and attention to detail is the basis for BMW Group’s and Harman Kardon's successful partnership. Celebrating their world premiere at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the BMW 520d Efficient Dynamics Edition, M4 Series Coupé/Cabriolet (LCI) and 440i/430i models all feature Harman Kardon technology, namely Alumaprene loudspeakers equipped with an extremely light membrane made of a special polymer, and Logic 7® multi-channel surround sound. The BMW 530d xDrive features Bowers & Wilkins technology, such as the Diamond Surround Sound System, diamond tweeter domes, Nautilus spiralling diffusion channels, Kevlar® midrange cones, Rohacell® base cones and the Fibonacci speaker hole pattern.

Ford and the B&O PLAY Sound System make every commute a journey

Celebrating its first ever public showing at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show is the new Ford Fiesta, equipped with a premium B&O PLAY Sound System for rich and powerful sound that provides pure listening pleasure for all passengers. Derived from the iconic design of B&O PLAY consumer products, the B&O PLAY Sound System in the Ford Fiesta features 10 high-performance speakers, 9 amplifier channels with 675-watt output, Digital Signal Processing (Adaptive Volume, Surround Sound, Power Manager) and static and dynamic sound tuning to ensure a consistent listening experience inside the car in all driving conditions.

HARMAN car audio systems will in addition also feature in offerings at the show from Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Hyundai, KIA, Lexus, Maserati, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, Skoda, Smart and Toyota.

Cutting-edge infotainment by HARMAN

Many of HARMAN’s infotainment systems and technologies will also be presented in OEMs at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Chief among these are two recently announced technologies – Apple CarPlay and Dynamic Map Layer – both of which are already featured in a major German automaker. Based on the Navigation Data Standard (NDS), an automotive standard supported by some of the biggest OEMs in the world, the Dynamic Map Layer solution identifies differences between on-board digital map data and real-world information to produce a real-time view of the environment. The groundbreaking Apple CarPlay system, which enables the various functions of users’ iPhones and navigation to be controlled through the car’s display, illustrates synergy between smartphone and embedded infotainment capabilities. HARMAN is the first to integrate Apple CarPlay through wireless connectivity, with the iPhone connecting via Bluetooth and data transferring via WiFi. Other HARMAN infotainment systems on display at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show include the Columbus Navigation System (Škoda), Rear Seat Entertainment (Porsche) and the Touch 2 with Go, which is included as standard for the first time in the Toyota Yaris.
