STAMFORD, CT – January 4, 2022–– The new JBL ARENA subwoofers are designed to deliver deep bass preferences for drivers. Leveraging technology from JBL’s Professional and Luxury Audio divisions, where loudspeakers fill giant stadiums, concert venues and movie theaters with incredible sound, this subwoofer takes a completely new approach to moving air in a car. Light and agile opposed 2.5-inch voice coils (10” & 12”) in a magnetic gap provide complete linear control of cone excursion all the way to Xmax. Symmetrical Field Geometry design ensures linear cone travel and low distortion at virtually any output level. The proprietary motor is surrounded by high-tech materials such as a cast-aluminum frame, concave composite paper full edge cone, nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) one-piece surround, premium integrated push terminal design, progressive spider, and vented pole piece, all with a design which hides the mounting screws. Power handling is a massive 2,400 Watts peak (800 Watts RMS) and all its parts work in harmony to cool voice coils.

The new JBL Arena series is offered in three different sizes: an 8” (2”VC), 10” and 12” subs all with amazing low resonant frequencies to create bass that provides that growl to any system. Easy system building is achieved with JBL’s Smart Selectable Impedance SSI, which provides either a 2ohm or 4ohm configuration at the flick of a switch. This is a perfect solution for customers who wish to build their system over time or desire more bass in the future.  For retailers it means with one SKU they will always have the correct product in stock.

“When we set out to build these new subwoofers, we knew we had to make something that would stand out from the crowd. We wanted them to look better, sound and play deeper than the competition. Lastly, we wanted an overall performance and value for the customer that was previously unrealized by the competition,” said Jeffrey Fay, VP and GM of Aftermarket & OEM Special Markets at HARMAN. “These brutes are beautiful, but don’t let the good looks fool you – these subwoofers will knock you down and steal your lunch money if you let them.”
