STAMFORD, Conn., September 12- HARMAN International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., focused on connected technologies for automotive, consumer and enterprise markets, today announced that effective immediately, Darrin Shewchuk will serve as Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications, reporting to HARMAN President and Chief Executive Officer, Dinesh C. Paliwal.

Mr. Shewchuk is a HARMAN veteran, serving in progressively senior roles in the communications function since joining the company in 2008. In this position, he will have responsibility for external, internal and digital corporate communications, global communications, government relations, corporate social responsibility, change management and community relations activities.

Over the past three decades, Mr. Shewchuk has served in corporate communications roles of increasing responsibility in both Canada and the U.S. He joined HARMAN as Director of Corporate Communications and was elevated to Senior Director, Corporate Communications in 2015, where he was responsible for leading strategic communication programs for the company’s Connected Car business unit. Prior to HARMAN, Mr. Shewchuk served in key communications roles at technology companies including Blackberry/QNX Software and Bell Canada. He holds a degree in journalism from Carleton University of Ottawa and a certificate in management and leadership from Yale University.

Mr. Shewchuk is based at Harman’s headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.
