JBL® Extends its Relationship with the NBA, Turns Up the Volume with NBA Stars and Teams

The sport’s most dynamic headliners and legendary franchises suit up with Team JBL to amplify the NBA fan experience

STAMFORD, Conn. – September 12, 2018 Basketball fans and music lovers have even more epic moments to come. Today JBL elevates the game once again by renewing a multi-year relationship with the NBA and expanding its footprint among players and teams. Since the start of JBL’s relationship with the NBA in 2014, the brand has powered the amazing sound of the league’s most exciting games, and the extension promises more legendary experiences to come.

In addition to welcoming back three-time NBA Champion and two-time MVP, Stephen Curry, two-time NBA All Star Andre Drummond and Kristaps Porzingis, JBL is also adding fan favorite Giannis Antetokounmpo who will be joining JBL’s thriving ambassador program. This reflects the brand’s continued emphasis on forging unique and integrated partnerships that reach deeply into culture via sports, music, and entertainment.

“Since we started working together in 2015, JBL has been an awesome partner” said Curry. “I can’t wait to see what’s next and to continue to partner with JBL to bring fans the best in sports and music.”

JBL isn’t stopping there. In addition to adding to current team deals with the Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks and Boston Celtics, the brand is announcing partnerships with the Chicago Bulls and Miami HEAT starting during the 2018-2019 season. Through these team partnerships, JBL will engage with fans in local markets that bring them closer to their favorite teams. JBL audio powers 50% of professional basketball arenas nationally, amplifying the in-game experience for fans across the country.

“JBL and the NBA intersect perfectly at the heart of music, sports, technology and culture. We’ve established a strong basketball heritage through our collaboration with amazing athletes and teams,” said Ralph Santana, Chief Marketing Officer of HARMAN. “Looking forward, it was important to us to continue growing our thriving ambassador program, and to get one step closer to fans and consumers by working directly with players and teams. These partnerships will enable us to provide fans with unique content and epic experiences at the intersection of music and sports.”

Mark Tatum, NBA Deputy Commissioner, added, “JBL has been a great partner and we look forward to supporting their efforts as they continue to work with top players and teams.”

The new NBA stars and teams join ambassadors from sports, music, and entertainment industries including 2017 American League Rookie of the Year Aaron Judge; actress and humanitarian Priyanka Chopra; Grammy nominated and multi-platinum selling recording artist Demi Lovato; prolific musician, producer and humanitarian Quincy Jones; multi-award-winning singer and songwriter Tinie Tempah; Indian music mogul A.R. Rahman; world-renowned pianist, educator and philanthropist Lang; and soccer star Jerome Boateng, among others.
