Stamford, CT – November 16, 2019 – JBL has been awarded five Gold Stevie® Women in Business Awards across marketing and public relations categories by the American Business Awards. More than 1,550 nominations from organizations of all sizes, including 25 nations were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of Women in Business categories.
HARMAN has built a community and culture focused on respect, with the goal to elevate women and close the gender leadership gaps that continue to exist, specifically in the technology industry. The company prides itself on the vast number of women in leadership roles and the priority put on diversity and inclusion. The Stevie® Awards for Women in Business honors all of HARMANs efforts, and the women who helped make 2018 a success including: Kheri Tillman, Vice President of Global Brand Development; Amanda Wormald, Director, Sports Partnership Activation; Denise Daly, Head of U.S. Lifestyle Public Relations Branding, Product & Luxury; Katie Raymond, Head of Digital Marketing + Social Media; and Andrea Seib, Head of Music, Influencer & Partnership Marketing.

The below campaigns were just a few of the many successful activations that the women of HARMAN orchestrated last year for creativity, strategy and execution:
GOLD: JBL Fest 2018: “Communications or PR Campaign of the Year - Media Relations”
GOLD: JBL Requestmas: “Communications & Marketing: Small Budget Marketing Campaign of the Year”
GOLD: JBL Fall/Holidays 2018 (JBL Fest + JBL Requestmas): “Communications or PR Campaign of the Year - Marketing - Consumer Products”
GOLD: JBL LIVE launch event: “Communications or PR Campaign of the Year - New Product Launch”
Created in 2017, JBL Fest is an immersive three-day brand event featuring musicians and celebrity personalities in entertainment, sports and pop culture. The 2018 event was hosted by model Olivia Culpo and included performances by Pitbull, Ellie Goulding, Tinie Tempah, and DJ Tigerlily. Additionally, Kevin Garnett, Magic Johnson, Priyanka Chopra, Quincy Jones, and AR Rahman, among other Hollywood A-listers were in attendance.
JBL Requestmas was a holiday activation where musical wishes came true via JBL LINK, the audio brand’s hands-free voice-activated speaker with Google Assistant built-in. JBL invited consumers, influencers and media to celebrate in the JBL store on Madison Avenue in New York featuring artist Andy Grammer and special guest Darryl McDaniels of Run-DMC. The event was hosted by iHeart Radio’s Z100’s Skeery Jones, and later transitioned into a consumer activation.
The marketing team continued to shine in 2018 with the multi-part event strategy to launch JBL’s newest superior wireless headphone series: JBL LIVE. This was JBL’s most successful launch event in history and to celebrate and elevate the brand’s presence at Miami Music Week, JBL produced a media and influencer event at the Shore Club hotel property. The evening featured live performances from Miami’s own DJ Irie, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano with a celebrity guest appearance from Olivia Culpo.
HARMAN’s Vice President Tillman is a leading example of the company’s efforts to uplift women, and she is honored for her many achievements throughout the year. She leads the creation of consumer communication through advertising, creative, media and PR, and is responsible for global brand development across all HARMAN brands including: JBL, Harman/Kardon, and Infinity. Her female-dominated team successfully executed events and campaigns leveraging professional athletes, leading pop culture influencers and music artists – touching a variety of industries and mediums. Judges honored Tilman for her accomplishments with the following:
GOLD: “Female Exec of Year: Consumer Products: +2500 Employees”
