Samsung Galaxy devices and Microsoft Azure deliver new mobile capabilities for range of vertical industry partner solutions
Washington D.C.– July 11, 2017 – Samsung Electronics America, Inc. (SEA) spotlighted best-in-class technology partner solutions today at Microsoft Inspire 2017 Worldwide Partner Conference to demonstrate success in fostering a growing channel ecosystem focused on mobile-first strategies. The award-winning partners spotlighted at Samsung’s booth (Booth #1725)—BlueMetal (an Insight company), Confiz, Infusion, and Teknikos—are delivering next generation mobility solutions that fully integrate Samsung’s Galaxy devices with Microsoft Azure.

Connected Smart Store by Confiz: This retail solution optimizes a consumer’s path to purchase while increasing employee efficiency. Built over the mobility platform CORE, it orchestrates the retail engagement across all touch points. When a store customer selects an item of interest from their mobile store app, employees will receive a notification on their Samsung wearable or mobile device. Employees can prepare a dressing room for the customer, with their selections. Customers can then ask for further assistance in picking a different size or color via their app, enabling employees to receive the customer’s instructions on their Samsung device and bring their merchandise to the fitting room.
Restaurant Order-to-Pay Solution by Infusion: Infusion will showcase an “order-to-pay” solution, developed for the world’s largest provider of food and beverage service for travelers, using the Samsung Galaxy Book for customer ordering and payments, and Gear S3 wearables for employee task management. Once a customer orders their food, employees receive a notification on wearables and can start preparing the order. Payments can be made as well, with employees accepting payment via wearables, improving workflow through fulfillment and resulting in quicker service and more satisfied customers.
Connected Room Hospitality Solution by Teknikos: This integrated solution empowers a unified relationship between guests and hotels through coordinated delivery of services and communications across multiple devices. On-demand digital concierge services are available on the Samsung Galaxy S8, an in-room Galaxy Book, and a TV, digitally connecting guests with hotel amenities. Restaurant reservations and service request confirmations are sent to a Samsung Gear S3 wearable to complete a holistic hotel stay experience.
Smart Airports using Analytics by HARMAN
Also at Inspire 2017, HARMAN, a wholly-owned Samsung Electronics subsidiary, will showcase an IoT-enabled solution for airports that demonstrates how asset tracking and predictive maintenance can improve operational excellence and passenger satisfaction, while mitigating security risks. The solution uses secure Samsung sensors to send data to a Microsoft Azure IoT Hub, and data is assimilated by HARMAN’s predictive analytics solutions, after which relevant data is sent to an employee’s Samsung wearable or mobile phone. This increases efficiency for airport activities, such as baggage claim systems, where vibration sensors can track the system’s equipment and monitor failure risk for preventive maintenance.
