True Wireless Freedom: JBL® and Under Armour® Unleash the UA FLASH for Athletes Looking to Push Limits

JBL and Under Amour release their first-ever truly wireless headphones, engineered with JBL Signature Sound, Bionic Hearing and unique Sport Flex Ear Tips for a tight seal and secure fit

CES 2019, LAS VEGAS – JANUARY 7, 2019 – Music brings energy and focus to training sessions, but the annoyance of tangled cords and concerns about sweat damage can quickly distract the most motivated athletes. To keep them striving for the next level, JBL and Under Armour have debuted their first truly wireless headphones: UA True Wireless FLASH. These sport wireless in-ear waterproof headphones were designed for runners by runners looking to push limits and break boundaries.

The lightweight, fully cord-free headphones allow runners to break free from the restrictions of wires. To insure ultimate focus, the ultra-comfortable Sport Flex Fit design keeps headphones secure to sidestep the hassle of constantly readjusting. And with UA Storm Proof waterproof technology and an IPX7 rating, these headphones can endure any sweat session or the outdoor elements.

Engineered with JBL Charged Sound, a sport-optimized signature sound curve, the 5.8mm drivers pump out rich bass, crystal clear mids and smooth highs to provide the motivation to maximize any run or workout. The UA True Wireless FLASH delivers 5-hours of battery life with a rugged aluminum charging case capable of bringing 25 hours of total battery life to the headphones, perfect for a weeks’ worth of long runs or cross-training sessions in the gym.

The UA True Wireless FLASH features Bionic Hearing, unique sound and mic technology, enabling athletes to hear surroundings with two sound technologies – TalkThru and AmbientAware. With TalkThru Technology, music is lowered and speech is amplified with a touch of a button, making it easy for quick chats with a running partner. In AmbientAware mode, a runner can still listen to their music while amplifying background noises so they can stay aware of their outdoor surroundings with a quick double tap.

“We’re excited to introduce Under Armour’s first-ever truly wireless headphone into the sport headphones market,” said Pascal Van Laer, VP & GM, Headphones and Wearables Business Unit at HARMAN. “The powerful sound quality from JBL, paired with innovative TalkThru and AmbientAware technologies, creates the perfect headphone for every workout experience.”

“Under Armour’s mission is to make athletes better,” said Brian Pitstick, Director of BD & Strategic Partnerships, UA Digital. “To meet the demands of peak performers, we partnered with JBL, a leading sound expert, to develop a cutting edge, truly wireless sport headphone that removes all distractions. This ultra-lightweight, ultra-comfortable cord-free headphone provides the sound experience, locked in fit and water proof design to allow runners to stay focused on the road.”
