Audi fans, listen up! The new Bang & Olufsen 3D Sound System will now be available in the new Audi A5 Cabriolet, providing the best possible in-car premium sound experience to complement Audi’s distinctive and dynamic character.
The 3D sound in the new Audi A5 Cabriolet is undoubtedly setting the benchmark of excellence in the automotive audio systems market. Leveraging the fantastic possibilities of Symphoria® and by using existing sources such as stereo or 5.1 Surround Sound, the Bang & Olufsen 3D Sound System gives occupants the impression that the car's cabin is acoustically enlarged. Symphoria® 3D sound extends the classic sound experience to include another height dimension. To make full use of the new sound possibilities, additional 3D midrange and tweeter speakers are integrated, enabling a natural and authentic acoustic sound reproduction for every seating position, ensuring a true three-dimensional sound experience for all vehicle occupants. Two subwoofers are placed in on both the left and the right of the car’s rear interior.
We’re also proud of how the architectural features of the Bang & Olufsen 3D Sound System are perfectly harmonious with the car’s interior design. The dynamic lines of the door grilles sport precision milled and anodized aluminum detail in platinum color, and a light diffuser in the front door woofers with all aluminum grill details shows off the laser-etched Bang & Olufsen logo. With 20 loudspeakers in total, including DHS speakers in the front doors to reduce panel vibrations and two subwoofer enclosures, the Bang & Olufsen 3D Sound System has an impressive 750 watts of pure musical power. Other key features include Digital Signal Processing (DSP) with 5.1 multichannel support and Vehicle Noise Compensation (VNC), which uses signals from the on-board microphones that constantly measure the system and compensate for background and road noise.
HARMAN is thrilled to continue to raise the bar for car audio with longtime partner Audi. It will be in dealerships in European countries from March 2017.
