True to the theme of this year’s Make Music Day, “Let The Music Move You”, HARMAN employees participated in celebrations at offices and parks around the world! Music has the power to unite, uplift, and ignite positive change — a belief that is at the core of HARMAN. From our groundbreaking audio innovations – in home, car and large scale global venues - to our unwavering commitment to expanding access to music education through HARMAN Inspired, our global teams share a passion for the transformative power of music.
This passion comes to life every year for HARMAN employees on Make Music Day, a global celebration that turns cities, parks, homes, and even vehicles into impromptu concert venues. Make Music Day fills familiar places with song — from street corner performances to car stereo sing-a-longs — and unites people through the universal language of music.
Global Make Music Day Celebrations Highlights
Across seven countries, we hosted ten employee events, bringing together thousands of our HARMAN colleagues and their families for the celebrations.
In China, the HARMAN Shenzhen site came alive with rhythm and joy as they celebrated Make Music Day through a two-hour music journey for the first time since 2018. The event featured 13 live performances from 17 talented employees featuring a wide range of musical styles. If that wasn’t enough to keep the energy high and the audience engaged, employees introduced a fun music guessing game and whoever raced to the mic first to name the song and sing the next line correctly won a small prize!
In India, 350+ attendees in the Bangalore and Pune offices lit up the stage with over 30 karaoke performances! Featuring electrifying live bands and DJ sets that echoed a strong belief in the connecting power of music.
In Poland, hundreds of employees and their families let the music move them on Make Music Day with an outdoor live concert performance featuring some popular song favorites from HARMAN employees and their families.
In the United States, through partnership with the Make Music Alliance and Cadillac, we brought an extraordinary car karaoke experience to New York City, Novi, Mich. and Northridge, Calif. Participants showcased their vocal talents in Cadillac's new OPTIQ electric vehicles, each equipped with a state-of-the-art 19-speaker AKG Studio Audio system with Dolby Atmos. This immersive experience not only showcased the joy of music-making but also highlighted how our breakthrough technologies elevate every drive — turning commutes into concerts.
Outside our flagship JBL store in New York City, New Yorkers belted out their favorite songs inside the Cadillac OPTIQ. Atmos-mastered tracks on a curated playlist with professional vocalists providing exceptional background vocal parts from the backseat, creating harmonies that enhanced the performances. Watch!
Our Novi, MI campus transformed into a hub of musical activity with our Automotive leadership team, including Christian Sobottka, CEO and President of HARMAN Automotive, joining the festivities.
