Palo Alto, Calif. – Aha by HARMAN today announced it has added audio stations from Daily Unsigned and Plum Radio to its platform. Daily Unsigned offers unsigned artists a platform to gain fans, and gives music lovers a great way to discover new music they might not otherwise hear. Plum Radio is an outgrowth of the first company to stream DJ-produced content dubbed “mixshows” to mobile phones, and now straight into vehicles via Aha’s service. Dozens of new Aha stations powered by Daily Unsigned and Plum Radio will be available on demand to Aha users soon.

“The ability to do one back-end integration that would allow us to get Daily Unsigned music to millions of drivers of different types of vehicles was a no-brainer,” said Rob Daily of Daily Unsigned. “Aha’s reach across so many car makers means very little work for small companies like ours, that aren’t big enough to do separate integrations with dozens of car makes and models. We are thrilled to give the Unsigned Artists that we feature further reach into the car.”

“Our primary focus at Aha is to bring a world of great audio content into cars, which means going straight to artists, not just relying on big labels or music services to feed us content,” said Chia-Lin Simmons, Vice President of Marketing and Content for Aha by Harman. “To truly give drivers the most listening options anywhere, we look for companies like Daily Unsigned and Plum Radio who are giving independent artists a platform. We look forward to Aha listeners having an excellent discovery experience as we continue to partner with even more niche media providers.”

Daily Unsigned is the premier and highly curated New Music Discovery website that helps unsigned artists get discovered. By adding Daily Unsigned, Aha brings music from more than 500 unsigned artists across all musical genres onto its platform. Since its launch in June 2010, more than 118 featured artists have gone on from Daily Unsigned to strike record deals including three that have gone multi-platinum with sales exceeding a combined 10 million singles.

Plum Radio offers a 24/7 stream of DJ-curated content, from hip hop to EDM to Latin music and more. To start, Aha will offer 8 Plum Radio channels to drivers which in total represent mixshows from over 200 DJs around the world.

About Aha by HARMAN
Aha is an interactive service of HARMAN International Industries that makes Web content as easy and safe to use as radio. Aha uses the Harman Cloud Platform to organize content from the Web into personalized radio stations that consumers can listen to from anywhere — at home, on the go, or safely from the driver's seat. By the end of 2013, Aha will be installed into vehicles by more than 10 automotive manufacturers, which in total represent more than 50 percent of all cars sold in the USA/Canada and up to 30 percent in Europe, including Acura, Chrysler, Ford, Honda, Porsche and Subaru. The Aha platform and service was started in 2008 in Silicon Valley by a group of Web and multimedia veterans with a shared passion for delivering an "always on" audio experience to connect drivers to the content they really want. HARMAN, the company that designs, manufactures and markets a wide range of audio and infotainment solutions for the automotive, consumer and professional markets, acquired Aha in September 2010.
