The International Motor Show 2013, GENEVA, SWITZERLAND — HARMAN, the premium global audio and infotainment group, proudly presents its new and improved Touch&Go multimedia platform for all Toyota Europe vehicles today. In a partnership with navigation specialist TomTom, the system has been equipped with the award-winning HD Traffic service. The service will begin rollout in vehicles in early 2014.

In addition to TomTom’s new, real-time traffic information service, the Touch&Go system by HARMAN includes functions such as junction views and tunnel views, plus broad language support for users.

Compared to standard TMC traffic information, the HD Traffic technology can locate traffic delays and traffic jams far more precisely and also has much greater road coverage in Europe. This means Toyota drivers will now be able to keep abreast of traffic disturbances more effectively and easily avoid them.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to collaborate with Toyota and TomTom to provide HD Traffic real-time traffic information to drivers across Europe,” says Dinesh Paliwal, HARMAN’s Chairman, President and CEO. “Thanks to HARMAN and TomTom pooling their expertise in navigation, we can deliver the best navigation experience possible to Toyota drivers.”

The new Touch&Go multimedia platform featuring TomTom’s HD Traffic will be available in the following countries from January 2014: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and Vatican City.
