CES 2015, LAS VEGAS – HARMAN, the premium global audio, visual, infotainment and enterprise automation group (NYSE:HAR), introduced today at CES 2015 three new, powerful additions to the JBL® branded fleet of subwoofers – the JBL BassPro Under Seat Subwoofer, JBL Series II Subwoofer and JBL Series III Subwoofer.
The new suite of subwoofers redefines the traditional mobile audio aftermarket segment to include premium sound at an affordable cost to consumers. For more than 60 years, the JBL brand has delivered products that exemplify the technology and expertise gained through our leadership in professional sound reproduction. The JBL name has been synonymous with the precise, naturally articulated sound found in many of the world’s most prestigious locations – and that includes consumer vehicles.
“Many stock audio systems do not provide the deep, low-end bass sound that customers crave in their vehicles,” said David Slump, president, Automotive Services at HARMAN. “Our JBL subwoofers are engineered to fit the unique audio characteristics of vehicles while giving consumers pricing flexibility and choice, and building brand loyalty. We want them to experience the best sound quality they can – and that includes hearing the low-end bass of each track.”
Each of the new JBL subwoofers offers a different sound experience to consumers:
- JBL BassPro Under Seat Subwoofer – This under seat subwoofer is designed to reinforce the low-end bass, putting the richness back into the music. The shallow 8-inch subwoofer with long excursion is compact and easily fits under the seat for a stealth installation and offers a Class D 80W amplifier.
- JBL Series II Subwoofer – Designed to turn heads, the JBL Series II Subwoofer has an aggressive youthful styling and impressive performance. Using HARMAN’s SSI™ impedance technology, system building is easy and retailers can stock just two SKUs – 12-inch SSI™ (dual 4 ohm) or 10-inch SSI™ (dual 4 ohm). The SSI™ technology also allows for easy system building – audio enthusiasts can start with just one subwoofer and add a second down the road. This subwoofer offers premium sound experience at a reasonable price. These will also be available in pre-built enclosures as well.
- JBL Series III Subwoofer – The JBL Series III Subwoofer is built for those who desire visceral performance and designed to keep the party going while punctuating the bass. Leveraging HARMAN’s exclusive Pro Audio Voice Coil technology that can handle up to 500 WRMS, these subwoofers play cooler allowing them to play deeper, louder and longer than conventional subwoofer designs. HARMAN’s patented SSI™ design offers ideal impedance selection in two SKUs – 12-inch SSI™ or 10-inch SSI™. The exclusive SSI technology allows for simple system building – start with one sub today and add a second when the budget allows. The JBL Series III Subwoofer provides premium, high performance sound and it significantly outperforms similarly priced competitor products.
