BARCELONA, SPAIN, FEBRUARY 28th, 2018 – Open Mobile Platform (OMP), the developer of Sailfish Mobile OS RUS, the first Russian mobile operating system, announced today that it has agreed on collaboration with HARMAN International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., focused on connected technologies for automotive, consumer and enterprise markets and entering.
Sailfish OS is a general purpose Linux distribution used commonly as a mobile operating system combining the Linux kernel and adaptation layer for a particular hardware platform, the open-source Mer core stack of middleware, Qt technologies for the UI and the API, and other third-party components.
HARMAN Connected Services as a software development partner of the OMP will participate in the development of a Sailfish OS ecosystem. Technical expertise of the HARMAN Connected Services team will heighten quality and speed of delivering innovative technologies and applications for Sailfish OS users.
The cooperation will allow both companies to leverage new business applications for Sailfish OS offering with their respective customers while jointly advancing the development of the best ecosystem. The solution will also enable organizations to quickly establish trust in their infrastructure and secure the interaction between users, devices, and systems in a manner that recognizes the customer’s need to leverage existing environments and remain flexible in choosing devices, backend applications, and data analytics platforms best suited to their specific business environments.
