Paris, France – HARMAN, the premium global audio and infotainment group, is gearing up for a strong showing at this year’s Paris Motor Show from October 4 to 19, presenting its audio solutions across a range of leading auto brands. With several show cars at the Motor Show featuring branded audio systems by HARMAN, visitors to Paris this October have an excellent opportunity to sample the powerful audio experience made possible by HARMAN’s technology leadership.

The cars with HARMAN branded audio in overview:

Peugeot
208 XY JBL
Peugeot France is presenting a limited edition Peugeot 208 XY with JBL® sound system. Limited to just 250 units, this series is a distinctive and exclusive version of the popular 208, equipped with a high performance sound system by JBL. With four tweeters, four woofers and a 240 W amplifier, the JBL sound system delivers an unparalleled audio experience to every seat in the vehicle. Drivers can choose to focus the sound experience to their seat, or expand the sound throughout the car. Thanks to AuraVox®, a software equalisation technology, the system soundscapes the interior perfectly.

Smart by Daimler
Continuing the long-standing collaboration with HARMAN, earlier this year Daimler selected HARMAN to provide in-vehicle audio for the vehicles by smart, a Daimler Group company. The Daimler smart fortwo – the two-seater city vehicle – and the four-seater smart forfour both feature the JBL sound system by HARMAN, proving that even a diminutive vehicle interior can have rich, expansive audio quality. JBL, which provides outstanding sound to the world's leading artists, is delivering superior audio into smart cars. Customised to the interior landscape of the smart, the JBL systems in both vehicles offer a full complement of high-end speakers, from subwoofer to tweeters, as well as a high-performance JBL amplifier with sound tuning. The smart fortwo has a total of eight speakers with a 240 W amplifier; the larger interior of the smart forfour is fitted with 12 speakers, powered by a 320 W amplifier.

Mercedes B-Class by Daimler
Visitors to the Daimler stand can experience the audio quality of the Harman Kardon® Logic 7® Surround Sound system in the latest B-Class Mercedes. With 12 high-performance loudspeakers and a 450 W DSP amplifier to soundscape the interior, audio is reproduced as clearly and naturally as the original recording. The acoustic stage is created by one ALumaprene center midrange speaker on the dashboard and four compact dome tweeters in the bases of the exterior mirrors and in the rear doors. With four ALumaprene midwoofers in the doors, two ALumaprene surround mid-range speakers in the D-pillars, and a powerful subwoofer for deep, rich bass, drivers and passengers in the B-Class can enjoy a concert hall experience on every journey they make.

VolvoXC90
The brand partnership between HARMAN and Volvo launched back in January, and the first car, the Volvo XC90, will come onto the roads with vehicle audio systems by premium audio brand Bowers & Wilkins. It is premiering in Paris in its new R-Design, and gives visitors the opportunity to experience Bowers & Wilkins in-car audio live. The system consists of a 12-channel Class D amplifier powering the sound to 19 loudspeakers – Nautilus tweeters, yellow Kevlar midrange speakers, bass units, two-way surround speakers and a two-way centre speaker – all of which are carefully positioned to complement the interior architecture and deliver the ultimate sound experience.

BMW and MINI
With audio from Harman Kardon, the sound experience will thrill drivers and passengers of BMW and Mini cars alike. Amongst other BMW vehicles being shown in Paris the new BMW 2Series Convertible, BMW X6 and the BMW 7series Individual Final Edition will all feature a perfectly fitted Harman Kardon sound system powered by a Harman Kardon® Logic 7® DSP amplifier. For its MINI vehicles BMW Group also relies on the beautiful sound of Harman Kardon. Both, the new Mini 5 doors model as well as the Mini convertible will offer a pure listening enjoyment for the passengers and the visitors of the show.

Lexus NX
The all-new 2015 Lexus NX will be the first vehicle to incorporate the innovative Clari-Fi™ technology by HARMAN. Clari-Fi automatically analyzes and improves the audio quality of all types of compressed, digitalized music sources. The available Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound Audio System in the Lexus NX incorporates Clari-Fi technology across 14 speakers in 12 locations, carefully designed and located strategically throughout the vehicle cabin, to create an optimum listening experience. Powered by a 10-channel ML5 amplifier, the 835-watt audio system delivers the highest quality audio experience to driver and passengers alike.
