GENEVA MOTOR SHOW – Two traditional German companies are once again partnering up. HARMAN, the premium global audio, visual, infotainment, and enterprise automation group (NYSE:HAR), brings a premium-level Harman Kardon audio system into the new Mercedes GLE Coupé, the latest offspring of the SUV family formerly known as M-Class.

Continuing the long-standing partnership between Daimler and HARMAN – the partnership goes way back to when Becker provided the first car hifi system to Mercedes – the GLE Coupé marks the latest milestone in this collaboration between the two global market leaders.

The new Harman Kardon sound system comes with a high-performance 200 mm double voice-coil subwoofer for maximum bass boost. For best listening experience, the system also features 13 high-performance speakers, positioned optimally in the car. The Harman Kardon premium sound system also comes with a brand-new Class D amplifier with 830 watts total output and Logic 7 surround audio processing. Developed by a team of Lexicon engineers, led by sound guru David Griesinger, Logic 7 has set a new standard for acoustic precision and fidelity in automobiles.

Michael Mauser, President Lifestyle Division, HARMAN, comments on the partnership with Daimler: “Our partnership with Daimler goes back to 1949, when Becker provided the first car hifi system to Mercedes-Benz. Since then, we have continuously strived to provide Daimler drivers with best-in-class audio to complement the quality they are used to from their cars.”

Also being presented at the Geneva Motor Show is the new AMG version of the Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake which features a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with 450 watt Class D amplifier with Logic 7 surround audio processing.

Both Harman Kardon premium audio systems can be seen at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in the new Mercedes GLE Coupé and the CLA AMG Shooting Brake.
